Outsourcing: Are American Workers Being Overlooked For Cheap Labor?

You know as visit with my family over the holiday season, I had an intriguing conversation with my mother about outsourcing and how outsourcing has become the trend of Corporate America.

As my mother began the conversation, she first spoke about how she loved her job and how she never missed a day of work in her 15 years years of services. And then all sudden, she heard the whispers of word outsourcing by other co- workers….. Not knowing what it meant then, but found out soon after that her job was being outsourced to a third world country for cheap labor. And all I could do was sit in the room with a gloom look of confusion because ……. I didn’t realize that American jobs were being outsourced for cheap labor in the 80 ‘ and 90’s.

Do you hear me, “Cheap Labor?”

Anyway,

As I continued to listen, I tried to come to grips with the the thought of cheap labor. Because in my thought process, I thought cheap labor sounded more like voluntary servitude. I don’t know about you… but, that was just my thought pattern.

I really couldn’t fathom it. But, I did because I wanted to hear more…… And the more and more I listen, the more and more baffle I became, because I realized American workers to getting the brunt of the stick.

Honestly, I thought was more of a tragedy than anything because Corporate America allowed outsourcing to answer their financial woes……..

Now, let me ask you the reader, “Are you an American worker whose been working for years….and now all of a sudden your job is being outsources?”

If so, I encourage you to engage into yourself.. by educating yourself, so you want get caught in the loop of abandonment, again..

Let me ask you, “Are you one of the individuals who truly believe that your job would be around for a lifetime?” I mean really… Because if so, I can truly relate. I will be the first to tell you, I used to believe that whole heartily, until I had a job loss. And I found myself wandering the streets with no where to turn.

As I said before, loosing my job was something I never thought of or even dream of… I always thought that if I got with a company that had a great reputation with many years behind it. It would never crumble. But, I was sadly mistaken. A mistake that I have learn from dearly. I came to a conclusion big name companies such Microsoft, Boeing, Caterpillar, Home Depot  and Starbucks are all just names. They don’t’ represent anything.

I also came to the conclusion or better yet realized, after many years of wasted time, life isn’t what we always aspect. There are always curves in the road to throw us off. Never realizing that’s the time that we are given to refocus or even given a new direction.

And you know what?

I came to realized that.. because I pound the streets for many years and found so nothing. I mean nothing, but a hard time.So I concluded, evidently  I was doing something wrong or I was on the wrong path. Evidently, I was the wrong path because I was given a path that had an unquestionable bright light at the end of the tunnel. A tunnel that I would never seen many years ago because of my fallacy mentality.  A mentality that truly held me back from my potential because of my surrounding. A surrounding that I have I now left behind. Now I’m a Savvy Entrepreneur mother working around her kids and teaching them the true meaning of VISION.

A Brighter Day

So my question to you now is, Are you willing to change your mindset or better yet your VISION to look beyond what surrounds you? or “Willing to get continue to pound the streets to find nothing?” And be be disappointed again with a job loss?” The decision is yours.

Complacency: Have You Allowed Yourself To Become Unemployed

OK. Let me ask you, “Where are you in your life? Are you an educated individual who has a college degree and had very impressive job based on that college degree? And now your finding yourself as another number in the unemployment line?”

First of all, I used to be in the same situation, ‘I graduated with a college degree and landed a pretty decent job, after.’

I went to work everyday without a concern. I did my daily duties: I went to work and came home. This was my routine for about 7 years. I never missed a beat. However, I did noticed during the last few years of my journey at this establishment, people were coming and going. But, you know, I thought nothing of it and I asked no questions. I just continued during my daily routine.”Working , Working and  MORE Working”

Then all of a sudden, I was faced with a situation I never thought I would face. I was in a predicament where I was in the mist of loosing my job.

My JOB!

A job that I thought I would have for my lifetime. That’s what my parents always said. “you get a job, perform well, and you would have your JOB for a lifetime. So, I never considered anything else. I had NO plan B, I had NO continued education, or anything else. I was just complacent with what I had and never thought to achieve anything else.

Period!

But, now I know different.

I know nothing is guaranteed, when your depending on someone else. The only person that I can depend on is ME and only ME.

So, in the end, I found myself UNEMPLOYED because of MY Complacency.
